The Russian Forbes has released the list of Russia’s wealthiest women in 2023. The ranking is topped by Tatyana Bakalchuk, the founder and CEO of Wildberries, one of Russia’s largest online marketplaces. According to Forbes, her net worth is estimated at approximately $7 billion. It plunged by almost one-half over the course of 2022.
In 2023, Bakalchuk is over $4 billion ahead of her runner-up, Tatyana Litvinenko, the shareholder of phosphate fertilizer manufacturer PhosAgro. This is not Bakalchuk’s first time topping Forbes’ list of Russia’s richest women.
A graduate of a Moscow university, Bakalchuk is 48, is married, and has seven children.
She co-founded Wildberries with her husband in 2014. At first, the company distributed clothes from popular catalogs, such as Otto and Quelle. Today it’s an independent marketplace offering a wide variety of consumer goods.
In 2022, Wildberries’ revenue amounted to $4.5 billion, with a net profit of approximately $140 million.
